DAILY ACTIVITIES
RISE AND SHINE at
6 a.m. Breakfast. Excavations from 7 a.m. till 1 p.m. Dinner is at 2
p.m. Then off to the river for a swim, go on an excursion to the beautiful
places of nature or to the nearest Cossack village (Don't forget there
are three full day of excursions besides these short explorations).
In the evening - supper, build the campfire, and sing. (Singing around
the campfire to the accompaniment of a guitar is very popular in Russia.)
Visits by folk musicians and singers are also planned. Then off to bed
for a well-deserved night's sleep!
EXCAVATING EQUIPMENT
Equipment All heavy excavating
equipment will be furnished by the expedition team. However, it is always
advisable to bring your own small tools, such a trowel, small scoops
(flour scoops work well) to remove tiny amounts of dirt, several small
brushes (paint brushes are nice of 1/2" up to 3" as you prefer.
Don't forget film, camera, and writing materials for notes.
