Mapping with a Total Station

Topographic survey and mapping carried out with a total station instrument over the course of the 2007 field season yielded useful information regarding site selection differences between Bronze/Early Iron Age people and the Xiongnu people who followed. In addition it provided students with an opportunity to work with this equipment, graciously loaned to the BGC project by the Smithsonian Institution.
